Introducing: Our Boise Eating Guides

I finally did the thing I’ve been meaning to do for years: turned our years of Boise-area dining habits into something other people can actually use. Three new pages, all living documents that’ll keep growing as we eat our way around the valley:

Our Favorite Boise-Area Eateries — The main event. Every restaurant, brewery, bar, and food hall we actually go to, organized by cuisine, with real notes on what to order and why we keep going back (or don’t — a few entries are refreshingly honest about places that didn’t live up to the hype). Built by having Claude comb through years of transactions from our budgeting app and then interview me place by place, so credit where it’s due: the legwork and a chunk of the prose are AI-assisted, the opinions are all mine.

Where Should We Eat in the Boise Area? — A one-button random picker pulling from that same list, now with checkboxes to filter by lunch, dinner, or happy hour. For the nights nobody can agree and someone just needs to make the call.

Great Downtown Boise Happy Hour — Scoped specifically to downtown, with actual days, hours, and drink/food specials instead of vague “afternoons.” Covers our own downtown favorites plus a bunch of other well-regarded spots we researched.

All three have comments open — if we’re missing a place you love, or you think we’re dead wrong about one of ours, say so. This is meant to keep changing.

More guides are probably coming. A brewery-focused deep dive is already on the list.
